Several aircraft scheduled to land at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, were diverted to the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) due to adverse weather conditions prevailing in the area. Reports indicate that around 06 incoming flights were redirected to MRIA amid heavy rainfall and reduced visibility at BIA.
