A total of 44 residents were rescued following a fire that broke out this afternoon (3) at an elderly care home in the Galpatha area of Batugoda, Horana. Police stated that a further seven individuals are currently receiving treatment in hospital. However, police said that 11 other persons remain unaccounted for following the incident.
