It was a natural phenomenon that had not occurred in this country for almost 30 years: a partial solar eclipse. At its maximum, the sun was obscured by up to 90 percent of the moon. Numerous people watched the spectacle all over the country.

Es war ein Naturschauspiel, das hierzulande seit fast 30 Jahren nicht mehr vorgekommen ist: eine teilweise Sonnenfinsternis. Im Maximum war die Sonne bis zu 90 Prozent vom Mond verdeckt. Zahlreiche Menschen verfolgten überall im Land das Spektakel.
